I developed my interest in urology and spent a period of time researching the psychological effects of prostate cancer investigation. Other issues regarding potential improvements to the prostate diagnostic pathway emerged and continue to influence my practice. My principal interest is in endourology, using minimally invasive ways to treat common urological conditions. I aim to ensure that patients have a clear understanding of their problem and treatment options. This has resulted in improvements to the care of patients with bladder cancer who can now have their operation as a day case and with better cancer outcomes due to the routine and prompt use of chemotherapy in the bladder.

Similar improvements are planned for men with benign prostate disorders. This includes the novel option of prostate artery embolisation (PAE), which is offered in conjunction with expert radiology colleagues, which Southampton are at the forefront of pioneering.

As recent BAUS endourology committee member, I was honoured to be involved in national audits and trial design, designing the content of training meetings and representing members. As part of my endourology practice, I work with colleagues providing the stone and laparoscopic (keyhole) kidney service in Southampton.

I specialise in the management of breast and urological cancer. I have been heavily influenced by a Clinical Research Fellowship in Canada where I had the opportunity to study clinical epidemiology at the University of Toronto, concentrating on the effectiveness of treatments and developing clinical research trials.

My specialist training was at University College Hospital London and the Royal Marsden.

I have a longstanding interest in teaching; The MSc in Oncology at the Institute of Cancer Research that I set up as joint Course Director in 2006 has gone from strength to strength. It currently educates about half of the UK oncology specialists. I have also been keen to introduce oncology to the medical students at Brighton & Sussex Medical School early in their clinical studies.

Miss Bailey works at Southampton Children’s Hospital and Portsmouth University Hospitals managing the full spectrum of knee pathology in under 18s. Most conditions requiring surgical management can be done so arthroscopically, irrespective of the size/age of the child. She provides an acute knee service for children across both sites and works closely with physiotherapists within the hospitals and the community to provide multidisciplinary care for children with knee problems. She has a passion for keeping young people active and engaged in their sport whilst respecting the differences and challenges that are associated with growing children.

Miss Bailey’s main research interest is in ACL injuries in women and teenage girls. She chairs the Women’s ACL Orthopaedic Steering Group. This is national group linked with the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Association for Surgery of the Knee, looking to increase the evidence base relating to ACL injuries and their management in this patient group. She has presented her work both nationally and internationally.

He trained as a doctor at Edinburgh University, qualifying in 2005. He undertook his orthopaedic surgery training in Bristol then further specialist training in paediatric orthopaedics in Sydney. His sub-specialist interests include the treatment of clubfoot and other foot deformities, complex limb deformities and helping children with neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy. He also runs an NHS peripheral clinic in Poole Hospital. He is married with 2 children and enjoys sports such as running, swimming, rock climbing and mountaineering.

I have been a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon for 10 years now. I have trained in India and UK and obtained my CCT in 2013 after completing a rigorous training in Manchester. I am fellowship trained Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon. I have had the privilege of working as a Consultant in India and now at Southampton Children's Hospital bringing in a wealth of experience managing a wide spectrum of paediatric orthopaedic conditions. I value diversity, honesty and integrity and I work best in a team.

I have been a consultant for just over ten years. In that time, I have developed the cerebral palsy and neuromuscular service at Southampton.

I have extensive experience of hip reconstruction, knee realignment and tendon releases in neuromuscular disorders. Basically, every orthopaedic requirement for cerebral palsy except spinal surgery.

In foot and ankle, I cover most paediatric disorders including bunions, bunionettes, flat feet, high arched feet and malalignment. Southampton Children's is a major trauma centre, so I have huge experience with any fractures or breaks or the complications that arise afterwards.

My specialty is posture management for learning disability, older persons rehab and neuro rehab in the community.

I have worked in the NHS for the last 4 years and in healthcare for a total of 9 years. Whilst I really enjoy my job, I feel that there are many patients who could benefit from additional physiotherapy intervention whether it be to maintain or improve their level of function or simply to build confidence within their own abilities. I currently work as a Specialist Physiotherapist for the Learning Disability Team in East Hants and Southampton and am the Falls Lead within our team. I also specialise in older people's care, neuro rehab including stroke and orthopaedic post op rehabilitation.

I see patients within their own homes and travel within 15 miles from SO17 postcode (areas include Southampton, Totton, Lymington, Hythe, Romsey, Chandlers Ford, Winchester, Bishops Waltham and Fareham). Further travel is considered but there will be an additional fee.

I am HCPC and CSP registered, fees would need to be paid on a self- funded basis, however patients may be able to check with Private Insurance to claim back once invoice amount has been settled.
